Judy Mullen's Trunk Show
At Thursday night's Manteca Quilters membership meeting our own Judy Mullen gave us a trunk show of her work. Judy is a designer and maker of clothes and a quilt maker.Judy is very creative and talented and it shows in her work which is still evolving.
This is a poster of her prize winning out fit that won first place for Judy and a brand new sewing machine...its still traveling all around the country being displayed at major quilt shows.
Here is a picture of Judy's garments and quilts waiting to be shown in the trunk show.
Judy is talking about one of her many challenge quilts that she has made.
Detail of flowers that were sewn raw edge on a jacket that Judy made....beautiful.
Don't you just love this house quilt.......love the colors Judy used. This jacket is made out of a old linen table cloth.....she then added the old lace and vintage embroidery. Another beautiful jacket.....hand painted by Judy and then she appliqued the flowers over the painting. Isn't this a beautiful star quilt....love it. You all know that red is my favorite color.....and I love this quilt....lots of different reds were used.
A close up of the red and white basket quilt. I have more pictures from the trunk show and will post more soon. I also took Judy's workshop today....More Than A Vest and took even more pictures at the workshop. So say tuned.
I am a quilter. The grandaughter of a dairyman. I was married to a dairyman but am now divorced and have a daughter. I work for a dairy trade group. Love cows and the country life. I was born here in the big valley and have never lived more then 15 miles away from where I was born. I buy way too much fabric, patterns and quilting books, belong to two quilt guilds and will never have enough time to finish all the projects I want to do.
