Have You Seen This Quilt ????

I received a request from a quilter that visited the Manteca Quilters web site and they are looking for the pattern to the quilt below. It was in the Manteca Quilt Show sometime after 2003. If you know anything about this quilt please leave me a comment. Thanks.

Hello, My name is Liz and I am a Fabricaholic......

Step 1
We admit we are powerless over fabric.

Step 2
We will reclaim our dining room tables from fabric stacks.

Step 3
We will give away our dog ears.

Step 4
We will make fearless moral inventory of our Fat Quarters.

Step 5
We admit we bought too much purple.

Step 6
We will attempt to finish our UFO's

Step 7
We will never be caught sneaking fabric into the house again.

Step 8
We will limit shop-hopping to 20 stores per day.

Step 9
We will never enable a young fabricaholic.

Step 10
We will continue to look for our hidden fabric.

Step 11
We will give away all scraps under two inches.

Step 12
Having had an awakening as the result of these steps, we will try to carry this message to other fabricaholics.

We Admit......We are Powerless Over Fabric !!

The Barbie Quilt

This Barbie Quilt was entered into the Qakdale Quilt Guild show. It is a very unusual quilt and is on a wooden frame. I took these pictures for my daughter Natalie a big, even though she is all grown up Barbie fan. The two people peeking around the quilt are in the Oakdale guild with me.

The gal who made this quilt collected the Barbies and made all the outfits, everything seen on the quilt was collected and included in this quilt.
All the little girls who came to the show loved looking at this quilt.
Love the sewing room.....
This picture is for bride to be Natalie....who will not be having a big wedding or wearing a dress that looks like this.
More pictures of the show tomorrow.....I took lots of pictures.

It Was A Long Weekend.....

First things first.....last Thursday night was the membership meeting for Oakdale Quilters and people who had finished the Presidents challenge handed them in. We each put out finished project in a brown paper bag so no one would know who did what with their fabric. Below are some pictures of the 6 quilters who finished their challenges.

We voted by number and there was a tie between the beautiful baby dress and my flower power lady. So we had to vote again....... Below is the dress.
Here is my finished lady......and the winner is......
Me...here is the beautiful winning ribbon on my flower power lady hanging in the quilt show.

Beading....beading and more beading

I only have two days before my Oakdale challenge quilt is due and I'm working right down to the wire. It's all done except for the beading. I love to embellish with beads. So I've been beading like mad. Below are a few pictures of the beading that I've done so far.

You can see the finished quilt at the Oakdale Quilt Show this coming weekend. It's going to be a fun show with lots of beautiful quilts and many vendors so you can buy more fabric and patterns.

Groveland Quilt Stroll...part 2

Today you get to see the rest of my pictures from the Groveland Quilt Stroll. The picture below reminds me of Sisters quilt show. Quilts hung everywhere.....quilts blowing gently in the wind.

Don't know why....but I really love black and red for a quilt. Here is a wall hanging that was hanging on a fence next to the sidewalk.
Look what a nice place to stop and set and visit and if you get cold there is a quilt to lay on your lap.
This is the quilt shop....Bunny Rose in Groveland. Located in a little old house and hung with quilts.
Look who is on the porch of the quilt shop.....Alex Anderson. Alex talked about the opportunity quilt she is designing for the Manteca Quilt show in 2009 and how beautiful it is turning out. Can't wait to see it.
After leaving Groveland and traveling back down the mountain we drove to Sonora and visited Bearly Quilting....cute quilt shop. I spent some money here.
What a fun day....spent with fellow Manteca Quilters. A big thank you to Liz Willis who organized the trip. I'm ready to go back next year.

Groveland Quilt Stroll

What a fun day on Saturday going up to Groveland to the Quilt Stroll. The weather was perfect...not too hot and we all arrived safe after going up old Priest's Grade. The picture below shows all the ladies gathering around and getting ready to walk the town.

Quilts were all over town.....the beautiful quilt below is draped on a wicker chair on a shady porch.

Quilts were strung from trees.....this group is in a field across from the park...what a sight.

These quilts were between trees in the park.

Here is a wonderful red and black quilt that I really liked.....cool.

More pictures tomorrow. We also visited quilt shops in the area and bought lots of fabric and quilting stuff.

WIP...work in progress

The weekend is almost here......YEA! Tomorrow I am going on a trip with Manteca Quilters to Groveland's Quilt Guild first Quilt Stroll. The quilters are going to hang their quilts throughout the town of Groveland from end to end......should be a colorful day. Alex Anderson is going to be at the quilt shop in Groveland so it should be fun. Then we are going to Sonora, Standard and Twain Hart for more shopping and buying of fabric and who knows what else. I don't get to sleep in tomorrow...but it will be worth it. I will be driving to Joan's house and Peggi and Sue will pick us up and then we meet up with the other quilters at Perko's.

Here are pictures of my WIP...the challenge project for Oakdale quilters......when I first looked at the fabric I said What am I going to do with this?? But that is the purpose of a challenge...you get a fabric.....you make something with it.
I really love the fabric I'm using for the face......cool batik. It took me days and days to draw the face....I can draw but faces are hard.

I've been working on this project all week.

I think I like the way it's working out.......
Then last night I began quilting and sewing down the hair.
Just a little more hand work then get the backing on and then I plan on beading the "hair" with lot of beads....I want to make it sparkle.
Don't worry I will be taking lots and lots of pictures of the trip to Groveland. Its should be a nice day to take a ride up into the mountains.
