I hope everyone who reads my blog is ready for Christmas.....I attended my first Christmas party last night at my moms. See the Christmas tree pictured below. A very small tree with lots of presents below. We enjoyed a wonderful turkey dinner with all the good food that goes with it. Then opened presents and had my sisters home made ice cream cake.
Here is a picture of "the boys" who had a fun time opening their presents. Andrew has reindeer antlers on and had fun running around.
These hangers are what I made for part of my Christmas presents for family and friends. What fun to make and easy too. Just buy some (or make your own) quilted fabric. Trace around a plastic hanger...make a pattern. Sew the two halves of the cover together....sew down the hole where the hanger goes through.....then add a binding to the bottom and you are done. You could make lots for yourself and have a closet that is full of these hangers.
The last picture is a close up of the hangers. Jo Anns has a real good choice in pre-quilted fabric...use your coupon as it isn't cheap.
Have a Merry Christmas, spend time with the one's you love and don't forget the reason for Christmas. Christ's birth so very long ago.

Manteca Quilters Guild Christmas Party
Last Thursday night the Manteca Quilters held their annual Christmas Party at the Manteca Senior Center. Good company and good food go together and we had plenty of both. Here is a picture of my table.
Look at this cool gourd snowman table centerpiece made by Sandy Newcome. She grew the gourds and then dried them and made the snowman. Each table had a different snowman and they were raffled off at the end of the evening.....I'm not lucky....I didn't win one.
Here is the crazy quilted ornament that I made for our annual exchange. Nadine picked it....yea!
Carol picked this wool Santa ornament....isn't he cute.
Here is the ornaments that I received......from Pat K....too much work....all that cross stitching.
Look what you can do with all those corks that you take out of wine....make a Christmas horse ornament.
Lucky Eddie won the big gourd Santa that Sandy raffled off for charity.....someone is lucky.
Another lucky quilter.....Peggi won this purse from Yoni. Yoni gave chances out to all the people who helped her at the program she gave this year.
A fun night was had by all. Now we all need to get busy and sell tickets to our opertunity quilt and finish all those unfinished quilts for the quilt show in March.

I'm back.....
I've been very busy here at work so I've had no time to do anything else.....so here is a quilt post. These pictures were taken a week ago at Tuesday night sewing group. Sue brought in this beautiful fall quilt that's going to her sister back east. She used the X-block to make this quilt. Not a whole lot of contrast....but it works.
Here is a close up of the fabric and block that was used.
At the free sew Dianah brought her R Lily mystery quilt so we could give our opinion on border choices. A beautiful quilt.
A close up of the block.....sorry I didn't get a picture of the fabric she layed out for her borders.
Same mystery....different fabric and sewer......made by Liz W.
Close up of Liz's block....looks way different then Dianah's. She using the green print fabric for her borders....no stopper.
Hopefully we'll get to see the finished quilts in the quilt show in March.

Last Tuesday was a busy night at our weekly sewing group. Dianah was taking out all the machine quilting that she'd done on a quilt. Her quilting machine was not sewing right.....now its fixed so she wants to redo this quilt. We all love to rip out stitches....don't we??
Sandy used the floor to lay out this quilt......love the colors and the pattern.
